Festivals & Things to Do in March

We say goodbye to summer for another year, but the good-times keep on rollin’ in Ol’ Sydney Town during autumn and the month of March! Here are my top picks for Festivals and things to do in Sydney in the 31 days of March! “What are you guys doing just standing there? March! 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4……… Go!”

Yoga on the Pier- Wed 6 Mar – 27 Mar

Pier One, 11 Hickson Rd, Walsh Bay    

Practicing your yoga with other likeminded people, while gazing out to Sydney Harbour in savasana, idyllic! Live it out! Every Wednesday evening in March, a 50 minute lesson from 6.30pm on the wharf just outside the Pier One Hotel. Cost is FREE! Just bring your yoga mat and stretchy yoga pants! Namaste.

Waterpolo by the Sea- Thurs 9 Mar

Bondi Icebergs, 1 Notts Avenue, Bondi

Here it is! The head-to-head clash we’ve all been waiting for! The Aussie Sharks V International All-Stars!!!!!! Um……….If you’re as clueless as me? No matter! Picture athleticism, skill, endurance, determination……Who am I kidding? It’s guys with more fabric on their heads than on their bodies, it’s hospitalities by the sea, it’s an after party with the players, win lose or draw everyone’s going to have a gooood time! Ball-drop at 5.30pm, Cost- $63 pp. Some budgies will be smuggled tonight!

Glebe Markets- Every Saturday

Grounds of Glebe Public School, cnr Derby Place and Glebe Point Rd, Glebe

Every Saturday Glebe comes alive with full colour, with the Glebe markets! Rain, hail or shine the markets will be the go-to place for gourmet food, farmers’ market, pre-loved goods, artisan trinkets, and live acts! Saije Music (Mar 9) and Goldheist (Mar 16) are acts (just to name a few) who will be performing at the markets in March! Entry is FREE, 10am – 4pm.

Sydney St Patrick’s Day Festival- Sun 17 Mar

The Rocks, Sydney

It’s always a fun-filled day at the Rocks, but see the cobbled laneways of the Rocks turn into an Irish village for the day as the streets turn green with Saint Patty’s cheer! Slainte! There will be a parade from First Fleet Park to Dawes Point Reserve- where the heart of the festival will be pumpin’! Expect a children’s activity area, live music, and food & craft stalls! Cost is FREE! All are welcomed, be Irish for a day! Just don’t act the maggot or utter ‘May the cat eat you, and may the devil eat the cat’ to strangers and you’ll be fine!

Liverpool on a Roll- Sat 30 Mar

Greenway Park- Greenway Dr, West Hoxton

Be ready for a night of carbs! The latest food festival to hit Sydney is ‘Liverpool on a Roll’ starting at 5.00pm. Picture Indian, Middle Eastern and South-Eastern foods, served up as either burgers, bánh mìs, or as a Burrito! And there you have it! Liverpool on a Roll! The only excuse stopping you  from getting on down to da-pool is an irritable bowel due to wheat intolerance, if you’re one of these poor sods, you’ll just have to pull all the meat out with your teeth from in between the buns! Cost- 2 burgers, 2 bánh mìs, and 2 Burritos, and that’s just for one!
